1. Work with a specialist

  • At Bloom, we have extensive training to specialize in pelvic and obstetric health, instead of just taking pelvic floor 101.
  • With expert, individualized care, we are often able to uncover the root cause of your symptoms quicker than a practitioner with less specialization, resulting in fewer visits and you returning to what you love to do quicker. It’s not uncommon for us to see patients who have been to a dozen practitioners, and finally find LASTING relief during their time at Bloom.
  • At Bloom, you’ll always be seen by a doctor of physical therapy that specializes in pelvic health, instead of bouncing around between practitioners or spending most of your visit with an aide or pedaling a stationary bike.

2. Long lasting relief

  • Bloom aims to discover the root cause of your symptoms so that you have long-lasting relief, rather than using a “bandaid approach” where you need to come back indefinitely.
  • Each person's program is tailored to their unique findings to help them feel their best. We do not have "cookie cutter" programs.
  • We believe a whole body approach is most effective! This means treating from head to toe, and taking into consideration your whole system. We assess and treat movement patterns, coordination strategies, habits, strength and mobility deficits, etc. We use both an active and hands on approach to help you find lasting relief.

3. Time to share your story

  • You have a comprehensive 90 minute eval and 60 minute follow ups with your doctor, rather than rushing through 30 minute appointments and only getting to tell half of your story.
  • At Bloom, you’ll always be seen in a private treatment room and gym, instead of a busy open space. Kids and babies are always welcome to join!

4. Home programs done differently

  • We take time to discuss what type of program works best for you. If time is feeling like it's in short supply, we find ways to integrate exercises and new habits into your daily routine so you can see results without carving out 30 minutes a day for exercises. If you're finding you can fit 3 exercises in your day, great! Want an extensive workout that really pushes you? We can do that too. We are here for you and are always happy to customize your plan so that it best fits your current needs.
  • Bloom creates their own home exercise videos, ensuring you have tips and comments relative to pelvic health rather than generic pictures or videos.
  • Bloom integrates your home program videos into an easy-to-use app (also available via website), so you can take your exercises with you wherever you go.

Dr. Jess Blaisdell, DPT, PT

Jess has a passion for helping mom's and those with back, hip, or pelvic pain and/or dysfunction live a pain-free, functional and active life. She also specializes in treating running related injuries and issues (such as running with prolapse, leaking, etc).  She is a pelvic floor specialist that earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota, is a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and Pelvic Pro. She loves spending time with her husband and two children, family and friends, drinking too much coffee, running and adventuring outdoors.
